LIGHT SAVING

Today at 2 AM, Daylight Saving Time, the practice of advancing clocks one hour in March finally comes to an end as the clocks go back in November. As a DST reminder, the week’s posts will cover hand signs about darkness and light.

From page 89 of My ASL Dictionary, a cartoon of a man with a white and black face and suit illustrates the ASL hand signs for LIGHT, BRIGHT, RADIANT, CLEAR, OBVIOUS, CLARIFY, ILLUMINATED, and EASY TO UNDERSTAND.

The tips of the flattened O hands touch in front of the chest to quickly arc upwards into open 5 hands, a visual for bright light filling a dark room.
