HALLOWEEN TREAT!

The Halloween custom of children in costumes going to neighbours to ask for treats with the ultimatum of tricks goes back centuries. In the past, poor children would visit the homes of the wealthy to offer prayers for loved ones in exchange for food. In Scotland and Ireland, children in costumes would perform their talents door-to-door, offering singing and poetry in exchange for treats.

For a Halloween treat, a new cartoon of a child dressed in a yellow Pocket Monster costume shows the ASL hand sign for the phrase TRICK OR TREAT.

The T hand taps the index and middle fingers of the opposite V hand twice for the two choices of Trick or Treat.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
