In 2013, the start of ‘My ASL Dictionary’, I received my first ASL artwork requests, a poster for The Village of Riverside Glen that listed 33 hand signs deemed essential in a long-term care environment. Included inside the poster is the requested cartoon of Chris Hadfield. The Canadian Astronaut commanding the International Space Station during Expedition 34/35 in 2013. In an open space suit with a guitar on his back, the Astronaut shows the ASL hand sign for TIME.

This cartoon was an earlier ASL image made before my good friend Ann Kunst advised me to place my name on every picture, not just the page.
