July’s Village Funnies was extra tough to finish. After finishing the cartoon images on paper, my printer’s scanner refused to work with my new computer. So many days wasted looking for a solution (new tech has a problem working with older parts) instead of drawing and colouring. After I finally found back-door access to my scanner, I had only hours left to colour and coordinate the finished strip. The strip was to show residents from The Village of Riverside Glen playing Survivor. After a brief review of the game (I’ve never watched the show myself), I chose the activities of “Tug of War” and “Get a Grip“. While not the finished product I was planning, I was able to get it finished.
In my creative rush to meet the deadline, I forgot to add an ASL hand sign. As her red mitten is already in the air for attention, I have my resident in the Parka wave her hand to show the ASL hand sign for HEY!
