LIGHTS ON

For starting a day, maintaining essential business operations, or grabbing the attention of an unfocused class, lighting is key.

My ASL Dictionary’s cartoon of a Commercial Electrician with an updated hearing aid shows the ASL hand signs for LIGHTS, LIGHTS ON, LIGHTING, LIGHTS OFF, and FLASH THE LIGHTS.

The Flattened O hands lift and open up into 5 hands once, for the visual of beaming lights.

The 5 hands lower and close into Flattened O hands once, the visual of turning the lights off.

Hearing or Deaf, a quick way to get attention in a room is by flashing the lights. To sign Flash the Lights, open and close the hands twice.
