My ASL Dictionary includes characters from my children’s book, “My Grandma has a New Boyfriend” (which I also had translated into ASL). As the story is about a young boy who feels someone else became a priority in his Grandma’s life, I have a cartoon of her new boyfriend, Frank, (dressed in their bike gang’s t-shirt) showing the ASL hand sign for FIRST OF ALL and FIRST.
The index finger makes contact with the thumb of the opposite hand, the digit where all ranking lists begin.
