My ASL Dictionary has a cartoon of a boy dressed like a cub reporter. Wearing a blue hat with a Press ID, he holds up an active recorder to illustrate the ASL sign for QUESTION.
Eyebrows up, the index finger traces the shape of the question mark, the punctuation mark for interrogation.

In the Dictionary, the QUESTION’s action lines incorrectly show a question mark instead of the direction the signer would use.
