Today I took a bus to Toronto with my friends from the Village of Riverside Glen to Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada. It was incredible! After taking 65 pictures of the beautiful fish I requested my friend Dawn to take a short video of me using ASL. She wanted to film me in the Aquarium’s “Dangerous Lagoon”, but the tunnel was so dark it made me more like a black silhouette against the fish tank. After explaining how sign language is better in a bright room, she took the video before we left.
As you can see in the comparison to the photo, the bright entrance of Ripley’s Aquarium made my words easier to see. YouTube also allowed me to add subtitles to clear up any confusion about my exaggerated movements (EJM is my Art Name).
