THEY HAVE EVERYTHING

For Hearing Students studying ASL, the first attempts at sign language can be stiff and jerky, more like martial arts strikes instead of conversation. To become more comfortable and relaxed, some students practice sign language with music, following the lyrics of a song with their hands instead of their voices.

While signing along to the song YMCA, I chose the next character for an ASL illustration. A cartoon of The Village People’s lead singer, Victor Willis, the Traffic Cop, shows the ASL hand sign for EVERYTHING and ALL THINGS.
Ex.
They have everything for young men to enjoy.

Both A hands, palms up, are held apart and move together, grazing each other as the wrists cross, then fling apart into Open 5 hands, a gesture to the large amount covered.
