For the start of 2024, a grinning Crash Test Dummy shows the ASL hand sign for YEAR. As stated in the past post, SMART DUMMIES, My ASL Dictionary uses these representatives of Seat Belt Safety to illustrate the ASL hand signs for TIME (Minutes, Hour, Day, Week, Month, etc). After animating this 2014 ATD illustration, I was shocked to discover it was missing from the book! I have no idea how this happened, but at least posted on the book’s website, this Missing Year can show off its grinning form.
The Dominant S hand completely rotates over the opposite S hand, like the earth yearly rotates around the sun.
