PAINT A PICTURE

Researching the works of deaf artist Chuck Baird and his contribution to art history as one of the founders of the deaf art genre, De’VIA (Deaf View Image Art), the art format of the deaf experience, inspired me to add him as the ASL hand sign for PAINT.
Fingertips of U hand pull down and up the opposite palm twice, like a small brush painting art on a canvas.
Following is the hand sign for a bigger brush. The fingertips of the Flat hand pull down and up the opposite palm twice, like a painter adding a new coat of paint to a large surface or wall. I added colour to the hands to show the brush’s mix of blue and yellow paint to create green.
