As a cartoonist, I had to illustrate something special for the ASL hand sign for ART. After a draft image of the artist Michelangelo, I chose instead his memorable statue of David to show the ASL hand sign for Art, Drawing, Illustration, and Sketch. For fun, I added a censor bar to cover the nudity and present the English title. The tip of the I hand’s pinky finger traces a wiggly line down the opposite palm, from the fingertips to the heel, like an artist’s brush drawing on canvas. The hand sign for ARTIST is the ART hand sign followed by AGENT.
