I’m in lockdown for the week, a protocol to prevent an outbreak turning into a quarantine. To mark this event, my dictionary’s ASL hand sign for LOCK. In a prison uniform looking more like a tux, this young cellmate shows the ASL hand signs for Lock, Locked, Lockup, and Lockdown. Palms down, the S hand rotates to land palm up on the knuckles of the opposite S hand, like a prisoner’s wrists locked together.
