For Today’s quick and almost painless dental appointment at Dawson Dental, the upgraded cartoon of a vampire showing the ASL sign for Dentist. With a mouth filled with anaesthesia, gauze pads, and dental tools, ASL is the better form of communication (as talking is next to impossible). My Dentist loved this cartoon and expressed interest in Sign Language. I referred him to my ASL courses at Conestoga College, the University of Guelph’s ASL club, and told him about my cartoon dictionary.
My ASL Dictionary has a cheeky vampire, a creature that would appreciate dental care the most, wearing a bright blue gown with a matching vampire collar, showing off his pearly whites and the ASL hand sign for DENTIST.
The edge of the Extended A hand sign lightly taps the cheek with the pinkie finger Twice, a possible visual for the dental tools inserted into the mouth.
The other hand sign for Dentist combines the signs Tooth and Agent.
