Al Bacio (“as good as a kiss”) is an Italian gesture mixing kiss and excellent to describe perfection. The ASL hand sign for Delicious has similarities to this Chef’s kiss, as my happy cook in her toque demonstrates. The number 8 hand sign touches the lips then the hand pulls up and forward as the palm arcs up.
For fans of the book, I included a second variation of Delicious where the fingers of the 8-hand on the lips snap as they pull forward into the A-hand sign. I added a flash of light to visualize the sound of snapping fingers.
