Another hand sign for Bake is the ASL hand sign for COOK. As my work continued on the dictionary, I began creating characters that would better reflect the words they were presenting. For this character, I drew a Professional Deaf Chef showing the ASL hand sign for COOK. Behind him are two gloved hands showing the hand sign from a different direction.
The flat hand slaps down on the opposite hand to flip over and land palm side up, like flipping a pancake on a hot skillet. Also used as the hand sign for BAKE, FLIP, FRY, and TURN AROUND.
