My dictionary has more than one hand sign for Birthday. A happy Centauri ambassador (also from the Babylon 5 TV program) shows a variant ASL hand sign from the Ontario, Canada region. The thumb tip of the K hand sign strokes forward and down the cheek twice. Other versions use the number 3 hand shape for brushing down the cheek.
