IT’S ALIVE! IT’S ALIVE!

When shown the hand sign for Frankenstein’s Monster, I wanted my illustration to look different than the creature I created for the hand sign for Multiplication. Instead of a single seam across his temple, I inserted more stitching to the patches on the face to better match the animated creature of Mary Shelley’s 1818 novel.

The Adam of a Mad Scientist’s labours, My ASL Dictionary has a cartoon of the Halloween creature for the ASL hand sign for FRANKENSTEIN’S MONSTER (sometimes called FRANKENSTEIN).
Thumb and index fingers tap both sides of the throat twice, the visual for the two electrodes on the monster’s neck that conducted the electricity to bring it to life.
