VAMPIRE GIRL

In October 2012, my ASL classes covered Math hand signs. Years later, the class covered Halloween directly. Turning to Halloween monsters and costumes again made the perfect fit. The handsign for Dracula and Vampire is the same. Instead of drawing the Count himself, I went with a cartoon of his daughter (having recently discovered her in the 1936 horror film).

My ASL Dictionary has a cartoon of Dracula’s Daughter showing the ASL hand sign for VAMPIRE, then after the fingerspelling, flying off as a vampire bat to reveal the word in English.
The fingertips of the V hand poke into the neck twice, a visual for the fangs of a vampire and the area it most often digs its teeth into.
