My ASL Dictionary’s next Halloween monster, created a year before my book even started, is this cartoon zombie giving his undead instructions to Hide. This 2012 illustration began as a threatening burglar but was later changed into a supernatural creature, the first monster made for my ASL collection. Luckily, because I don’t watch many Zombie films, the creature is more cute than frightening.
With Red Eyes, Grey Skin, Tattered Robes, and a Smile, an Undead Zombie shows two ASL hand signs for HIDE.
A hand slides under the opposite Crooked B hand, like hiding from sight.
The thumbnail of A hand is placed against the lips as the hand is lowered under the palm of the Crooked B hand, like concealing a secret.
