The Paris of the Prairies, Saskatoon, is the largest city of its province. It has over sixty different neighbourhoods, each with its own character and community. Connected by nine river crossings, it is also known as Bridge City. Its name comes from the Cree term Misâskwatoômina, for the red and violet colored berries of the area.
Saskatoon has the second highest percentage of First Nations population of Canadian cities, so I drew a First Nation University student to represent the city hand sign, dressed in violet with the city flag blended into the jacket. The animation also updates the dictionary by including a variant hand sign for Saskatoon.
