My book’s cartoon characters often have a visual connection to the word they are signing in ASL. To represent the ASL hand sign for Trust, I drew a superhero. My book already had Superman and Batman for Problems (and teasing), so I used the Champion created by my good friend (and big brother) Scott Mitchell, who is also very trustworthy. Solar Battery is demonstrating my first lesson in the ASL hand sign for Trust. Since the book’s completion, I have learned other hand signs for this word which I will post with a new Solar Battery drawing tomorrow.
