Orange is more than a blending of the primary colours red and yellow it is also a popular citrus fruit. Handsigns for both are on Page 106 of My ASL Dictionary. For Canada and the United States, squeezing your hand sign in front of your mouth is the hand sign for the edible fruit laden with sweetness and vitamin C. In the United States, this is also the hand sign for the colour. Canada uses a different hand sign for the colour, which I will be posting tomorrow.
My ASL DIctionary’s cartoon of a mime shows the hand sign for ORANGE fruit with a handful of the oranges appearing with the word in English.
C hand held in front of the mouth (or chin) is closed into an S hand twice, like squeezing an orange.
