After close to eight years of work, I finally completed my ASL Dictionary on December 31, 2020. In the years leading up to its publishing, my friend Dr. Draga Jichici suggested I should animate every word in the book. While I didn’t take up the challenge of animating over 1000 words in American Sign Language, his advice stuck with me and eventually inspired me to create the Animated Word of the Day. A possibly new weekly post. With close to 170 pages of American Sign Language Hand signs to choose from, these posts should last a while. Maybe when I finish animating them all, I can collect them into the animated book Dr. Jichici asked me to make in the first place. This Animated ASL Word of the Day (with my two favourite Jedi Masters) is TRY. While the Animated ASL Word of the Day was my attempt to create an original media presence for my book, the first idea for my ASL animation came from my neurologist.
