The latest addition to my Web Site and Facebook is the Animated ASL Word of the Day. Taking ASL hand signs from my Dictionary, I separate each picture into multiple frames to animate them with Adobe Photoshop. I was looking for a new angle for my book’s online media presence. Adding motion to the still images was a perfect fit. ASL is a language defined by motion, incorporating animation allows me to add extra life to the words in my book.
I started with the ASL hand sign for SMART. The cartoon is of Charles McKelvey, the ASL teacher who looked at my American Sign Language artwork and told me to make a book.
