In the spirit of April Fools’ Day, I drew a cartoon of the ASL Hand sign for FOOL. The word Fool has connections to the terms Stupid, Silly, and Dumb. For this reason, I used the same character for Fool that I had for the other words. In my Book, Clowns illustrate Greetings and Emotions. I changed the look for these clowns as I thought if that Jesters often dress in large colorful outfits, one wearing a mediocre, brown business suit would be just plain ridiculous.
The extra fun to this story is that I didn’t need to draw another clown at all. The sign for Fool is already in my dictionary as the hand sign for TRICK. Now do I feel like the Poissson d’avril!
